Story Bridge Restoration (Stage 2) – Story Bridge, Kangaroo Point

Council is continuing to progress intermittent night works between 5 and 6 of the structure (from Wharf Street, behind QMC to Affinity Apartments). Works will continue to late-May 2024, weather and construction conditions permitting. These works are above and below the structure. Work hours are 8pm to 5am, Sunday to Friday, when traffic on the overhead bridge is lowest, and for the community’s safety.

During this time, partial lane closures on the Story Bridge are required. To ensure safety, an exclusion zone around the work area and onsite traffic control will be in place. All lanes will be reopened to traffic outside project work hours.

Nearby residents and businesses may experience some intermittent noise and lighting impacts from held-held equipment and machinery including power tools and onsite lighting. Some night works may require hammering, grinding and power sawing. Council will attempt to complete the noisier works as early as possible.

Brisbane City Council will be undertaking intermittent night works between Spans 4 and 6 of the structure (from Wharf Street, behind Radio 4EB to Affinity Apartments) from late October 2023 to late February 2024, weather and construction conditions permitting. These works will be above and below the structure. Work hours are 8pm to 5am, Sunday to Friday, when traffic on the overhead bridge is lowest, and for the community and worker’s safety.
