Pavement Resurfacing Works – Warrego Highway, Haigslea
Pavement resurfacing works Warrego Highway, Haigslea
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be undertaking pavement resurfacing works inbound on the Warrego Highway between Seminary Road and Beduhns Road, Haigslea from early February 2026.
These works are being undertaken as part of TMR’s maintenance program to improve the road surface and provide a safe road network.
Work activities
- removal and replacement of asphalt
- reinstatement of temporary line marking
- final line marking.
Timing
- Works will commence in early February 2026 and are expected to take approximately seven weeks to complete, construction and weather conditions permitting.
- Typical construction hours will be from 8pm to 5am, Sunday to Friday.
- Night works are required for road user safety, and to avoid what would otherwise be extensive traffic queuing and disruption to the road network.
- While most of the works will be undertaken at night, some Saturday or other out of hours works may be required.
Expected impacts
- Temporary traffic changes will be in effect including detours, road shoulder closures, lane closures with traffic control, changes to traffic flow, temporary speed reductions and short-term traffic disruptions.
- While works are underway, single lane closures will be in place between 8pm and 5am.
- Detours will be in place for motorists needing to travel across the intersection from Warrego Highway (westbound) into Claus Road or Linnings Road.
- Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.
- All roads will be open during the day when works are not taking place.
- Nearby residents and businesses may experience short-term increases in noise, dust, and odour during the works. Reversing beepers and flashing lights are a safety requirement and will be used at all times during working hours.
- Access to and from private properties and businesses will be maintained.
- Final line marking works to improve the reflectivity and longevity of the road line marking will be carried out approximately six weeks after the completion of road resurfacing.
On completion, TMR officers will continue to review the site for up to three months. During this time TMR will assess the work undertaken for longevity and quality. In some cases, TMR may need to do further work at the location to rectify any defects.
Every effort will be made to minimise impacts on the local community and surrounds.
TMR appreciates your patience and cooperation while these important works are carried out.
