Pavement resurfacing works – Pacific Motorway, Holland Park West and Tarragindi
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be undertaking pavement resurfacing works northbound on the Pacific Motorway between the Gaza Road exit ramp in Holland Park West and the Esher Street overpass in Tarragindi in mid- August 2025.
These works are being undertaken as part of TMR’s maintenance program to improve the road surface.
Detours will be required while works are underway.
Work activities
- Removal and replacement of asphalt
- Reinstatement of temporary line marking
- Final line marking.
Timing
- Works will commence mid-August 2025 and are expected to take approximately three weeks to complete, construction and weather conditions permitting.
- Works will be undertaken at night between 8pm to 5am, Sunday to Friday, however some Saturday or other out of hours works may be required.
- Night works are necessary for road user safety, and to avoid what would otherwise be extensive traffic queuing and disruption to the road network.
Expected impacts
- Temporary traffic changes will be in effect including detours, road shoulder closures, lane closures with traffic control, speed reductions and short-term traffic disruptions.
- Detours will be in place between 10pm and 4.30am only during works on the northbound entry ramp off Birdwood Road.
- Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.
- Heavy machinery will be in use and nearby residents and businesses can expect some increased noise, dust and odour.
- Reversing beepers and flashing lights are a safety requirement and will be used at all times during working hours.
- While most of the works will be undertaken at night, some Saturday or other out of hours works during the day may be required.
- Final line marking works to improve the reflectivity and longevity of the road line marking will be applied approximately six weeks after the completion of road resurfacing to allow for adequate curing.
Every effort will be made to minimise impacts on the local community and surrounds.
TMR appreciates your patience and cooperation while these important works are carried out.
