The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be conducting pavement repair and resurfacing works in both directions on Beaudesert Road between Algester Road, Calamvale and McCotter Street, Acacia Ridge.

These works are being undertaken as part of TMR’s maintenance program to improve the road surface and enhance road safety for all road users.

While works are underway, detours will be required, please see details below.

Work activities

• Removal and replacement of asphalt.
• Reinstatement of temporary line marking.
• Final line marking.

Timing

• Works will commence late October 2023 and are expected to take approximately four weeks to complete, weather and site conditions permitting.
• Typical construction hours will be from 8pm to 5am, Sunday to Friday. Night works are required for road user safety and to avoid what would otherwise be extensive traffic queuing and disruption to the road network. While majority of the works will be undertaken at night, some Saturday or other out of hours works may be required.
• While works are underway, temporary road closures will be required between 9pm and 5am, detours will be in place:
  • Access to Bradman Street from Beaudesert Road will be detoured as follows:
    • Southeast bound traffic will be detoured via Hellawell Road, Jackson Road and Landseer Street.
    • Southeast bound heavy vehicles will be detoured via Boundary Road and Halt Street.
    • Northwest bound traffic will be detoured via Boundary Road and Halt Street.
    • Northbound traffic will be detoured via Boundary Road and Halt Street.
  • While temporary road closures are in place on Hellawell Road access to Beaudesert Road from Ingram Road will be detoured as follows:
    • Southbound traffic will be detoured via Hellawell, Landseer and Bradman Street.
  • Access to Beaudesert Road from Hellawell Road will be detoured as follows:
    • Westbound traffic will be detoured via Hellawell Road, Pinelands Road and Calam Road.
  • Access to Beaudesert Road from Learoyd Road will be detoured as follows:
    • Eastbound, Westbound and Southbound traffic will be detoured via Bradman Street.
  • Access to Learoyd Road from Beaudesert Road will be detoured as follows:
    • Southwest bound traffic will be detoured via Bradman Street.
• Final line marking works to improve the reflectivity and longevity of the road line marking will be applied approximately six weeks after the completion of road resurfacing to allow for adequate curing.

Expected impacts

• Changed traffic conditions: Temporary traffic changes include, road shoulder and lane closures, traffic detours, roadworks speed limit reductions and short-term traffic disruptions. Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.
• Temporary construction noise: Nearby residents and businesses may experience short term increases in noise, dust, and odour during the works. Reversing beepers and flashing lights will be used on vehicles for safety.

On completion, TMR officers will continue to review the site for up to three months. During this time TMR will assess the work undertaken for longevity and quality. In some cases, TMR may need to request further work at the location to rectify any defects.
