Maintenance Works – Woodford Road (Mount Mee Road), Mount Mee

Brisbane–Woodford Road slope maintenance
Works notification: November 2023

UPDATED: January 2024

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) would like to advise about upcoming maintenance works on Brisbane–Woodford Road, known locally as Mount Mee Road, at Mount Mee.

Works will involve removing selected trees and unstable rocks along a 370-metre section of roadside cut slope, on the northern side of this road. Works will start near the Freds Road intersection and continue north- west towards Mount Mee.

Works will reduce the likelihood of rock or land slips at this location, improving safety for all road users, and will be completed in two stages.

Key works:

  • Stage one – removal of selected trees and vegetation.
  • Stage two – scaling of loose rocks.

What to expect

  • Stage one is scheduled to begin Monday 5 February 2024 and is expected to take approximately three days to complete, weather and site conditions permitting.
  • Stage two is scheduled to begin Wednesday 7 March 2024 and is expected to take approximately nine days to complete, weather and site conditions permitting.
  • All works will be undertaken during the day, between 6am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Motorists may experience delays as one lane will be closed for the duration of these works, including overnight during stage two.
  • Traffic controllers, reduced speed limits, road signage and variable message signs will be in place to ensure motorist and road worker safety.
  • Priority access through the work zone will be given to emergency vehicles.
  • Nearby residents may experience noise and possible dust from these activities and from machinery.
  • Should wet weather prevent this work from taking place as scheduled, it will start as soon as possible following the delay.

TMR’s contractor will endeavour to keep disruptions and noise to a minimum while the works are undertaken.

TMR understands roadworks can be frustrating and acknowledges the cooperation and patience of stakeholders during these essential works.
