
Lane & Road Closures – Mount Crosby Road & Coal Road, Chuwar
Mount Crosby Road and Coal Road, Chuwar Geotechnical drilling works
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be undertaking geotechnical investigations on Mount Crosby Road and Coal Road, Chuwar from late September.
These works are being undertaken to assess ground conditions for the Warrego Highway and Mount Crosby Interchange project which is currently in the design phase.
Work activities
- Geotechnical drilling involving removal of a small core of dirty only.
Timing

Works will commence late September 2023 and be completed in early October 2023, construction and weather conditions permitting.
- Typical construction hours will be from 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and 8am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday.
Expected impacts

There will be a full road closure on Mount Crosby Road from the Coal Road intersection heading west to the local cul-de-sac and a lane closure on Coal Road, from the Mount Crosby intersection heading east towards the Mount Crosby Road roundabout.

Traffic control will be in place to maintain local access and egress to properties, including the Chuwar Baptist Church. Impacted areas on Mount Crosby Road and Coal Road are shown on the attached map.

Traffic changes will be in effect, including localised traffic detours, lane closures with traffic control, changes to traffic flow, temporary speed reductions and short-term traffic disruptions. Outside construction hours, road will reopen as normal.

Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.

Nearby residents and businesses can expect to experience short term impacts including increased noise, dust, and odour during the works.

Access to private properties: Access will be maintained during the works. Where temporary access changes are required, property/business owners will be contacted directly.
- Reversing beepers and flashing lights are a safety requirement and will be used at all times during working hours.
