Intersection Upgrade – Logan Road and Deshon Street, Woolloongabba
Logan Road and Deshon Street intersection upgrade – Woolloongabba
START OF CONSTRUCTION
WHAT WORKS ARE COMING UP?
We are upgrading the Logan Road and Deshon Street intersection in Woolloongabba to address safety concerns for motorist and pedestrian movements within the area.
WHY IS THIS WORK HAPPENING?
This intersection has been identified as a location requiring safety improvements due to 11 recorded crashes in the area, between 2016 and 2023. Six of the crashes involved vehicles turning right from Logan Road into Deshon Street, failing to give way and colliding with vehicles travelling south on Logan Road.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ME?
If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:
-
increased noise, truck movements, vibration, dust and light from mobile light towers
- changed traffic conditions, including minor traffic delays, reduced speed limits, lane closures and detours.
We value your patience and cooperation while we complete these important works.
WHEN WILL THIS WORK TAKE PLACE?
Start: 17 September 2023
Finish: December 2023, weather and site conditions permitting
Time/days: Night works 7pm – 5am, Sunday to Thursday
Majority of works will be carried out at night, when traffic and pedestrian volumes are lowest, to ensure the safety of road users and workers and reduce impact to the local road network.
Every effort will be made to complete particularly noisy works prior to 11pm, where possible. At times, some construction works may be required to take place during the day, between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
