Ipswich Motorway underpass, Gailes – lighting and electrical infrastructure inspections
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be inspecting the underpass of Ipswich Motorway (westbound) near Logan Motorway in late-April 2025. These inspections are being undertaken to assess the existing lighting infrastructure and conditions to inform planning for future electrical upgrades.
Work activities
- Inspection of lighting infrastructure using a vacuum truck and scissor lift.
Timing
- Inspections will take place between 6.30pm Wednesday 30 April and 4.30am Thursday 1 May 2025, site and weather conditions permitting.
- Night works are required for road user safety, and to avoid what would otherwise be extensive traffic queuing and disruption to the road network.
Expected impacts
- Traffic changes will be in effect, including temporary lane closures, reduced speed limits and short-term traffic disruptions.
- Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.
- Nearby residents and businesses can expect to experience short term impacts including increased noise, dust, and odour during the works.
- Reversing beepers and flashing lights are a safety requirement and will be used at all times during working hours.
Every effort will be made to minimise impacts on the local community and surrounds.
TMR appreciates your patience and cooperation while these important works are carried out.
