Embankment Remediation Works – Lanita Road, Ferny Grove
Embankment remediation works
Lanita Road, Ferny Grove
WHAT WORKS ARE COMING UP?
Brisbane City Council will be undertaking embankment remediation works at two locations along Lanita Road in Ferny Grove.
WHEN WILL THIS WORK TAKE PLACE?
Start Early December 2023
Finish Late December 2023, weather and site conditions permitting
Time and day 7am – 5pm, Monday to Friday
Council will provide advance notification of any out-of-hours works during the construction period.
WHAT DOES THIS WORK INCLUDE?
As part of these works, we will be:
- removing vegetation and loose material on the embankment
- reprofiling the slope to improve stability
- drilling and fixing steel rock pins into the slope face
- installing a protective spray-on concrete (shotcrete) layer, colour matched to the existing embankment.
To complete these works, Council has identified 23 trees that need to be removed from the road reserve on Lanita Road. Replanting will occur in the local area, where possible, in line with Council’s commitment to keep our suburbs cooler, shadier and greener.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ME?
If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:
- temporary parking and lane closures
- some construction noise, minor dust, and vehicle movements through the local area
- traffic controllers and signage to safely direct motorists and pedestrians.
