Centenary Bridge Upgrade Project – Sinnamon Road southbound off-ramp, temporary full closure

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) advises the Centenary Motorway southbound off-ramp to Sinnamon Road, Jindalee will close full-time for three months from Sunday, 17 August, 2025.

The closure is required for the Centenary Bridge Upgrade Project as part of preparation works for moving traffic onto the new bridge.

During the full closure, motorists will be diverted to the Seventeen Mile Rocks Road off-ramp, approximately 500m further south. Traffic control and signage will be in place to direct motorists.

Work activities:

• Close and excavate the Sinnamon Road southbound off-ramp.
• Build sewer and drainage lines under the off-ramp.
• Widen a section of the Centenary Motorway southbound carriageway.
• Move concrete barriers.
• Undertake geotechnical investigations.
• Construct road pavement and install signage, road furniture and lighting.

Timing:

• The off-ramp will close from 8pm Sunday, 17 August, 2025 and will re-open
  mid-November 2025, construction and weather conditions permitting.
• The majority of the works will be undertaken during the day, with some intermittent night works during this period.

Expected impacts:

• Traffic changes will be in effect, including the off-ramp closure and a single Centenary Motorway southbound lane closure at night, with temporary speed reductions.
• Motorists wishing to exit the motorway will be diverted to the Seventeen Mile Rocks Road
  off-ramp, approximately 500 metres further south. A detour map is provided below.
• Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.
• Heavy machinery will be in use and nearby residents and businesses may experience
  short-term impacts including increased noise, dust, vibration and odour.
• Reversing beepers and flashing lights are a safety requirement and will be used during working hours.
