Centenary Bridge, Centenary Motorway northbound lane closure
Centenary Bridge Upgrade – Centenary Motorway northbound lane closure
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) advises that a lane closure will be in place on the Centenary Motorway northbound between the Centenary Bridge and Kenmore Road overpass between 8pm and 5am for one week from Thursday, October 12, 2023.
The closure is required for the establishment of a deceleration lane and site access into the work area north of the bridge.
Work activities:
- Realignment of traffic barriers
- Establishment of a deceleration lane
- Installation of roadworks signage
- Installation of site access gate.
Timing:
- Works will be undertaken at night between 8pm and 5am, Sunday to Thursday, as required, for road user and worker safety and to avoid what would otherwise be extensive queuing and disruption to the road network.
Expected impacts:
- Changed traffic conditions: Temporary traffic changes will be in place during night works, including the singe lane closure and speed limit reduction on the Centenary Motorway northbound. Traffic control will be in place to ensure the safety of road users and construction crews. Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.
- Temporary construction noise: Heavy machinery will be in use and nearby residents and businesses may experience short-term impacts, including noise, flashing lights, dust, vibration and odour from construction equipment and activities on-site.
Every effort will be made to minimise impacts on the local community and surrounds. TMR appreciates your patience and cooperation while these important works are carried out.
