Batter Slope Restoration Works

UPDATE: February 2023

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be completing works to restore the batter slope along Mount Crosby Road, near Kholo Creek bridge, from late February 2024 to late April 2024. These works are to repair the batter slope after the February 2022 flood event.

Work activities

  • Batter slope restoration works
  • Removal of fallen debris and vegetation
  • Regrading of the slope
  • Installation of hydromulch-bonded fibre matrix(BFM)treatment

Timing

  • Works will commence late February and be completed in late April 2024, construction and weather conditions permitting.
  • Typical construction hours will be from 6:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
  • While most of these works will be undertaken during the day, some Saturday and out of hours works may be required.

Expected impacts

  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect increased noise and dust.
  • Traffic changes including delays, localised traffic detours, road and lane closures and reduced speed limits.
  • Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.
  • A qualified arborist will be engaged to supervise the removal of trees in a way which minimises the impact to remaining vegetation.
  • Fauna spotter catchers will be in place throughout the tree and vegetation clearing to relocate any wildlife.

Every effort will be made to minimise impacts on the local community and surrounds.

Works will include:

  • Batter slope restoration works
  • Removal of fallen debris and vegetation
  • Regrading of the slope
  • Installation of the hydromulch-bonded fibre matrix (BFM) treatment
