Maintenance Works – Pacific Motorway, MacGregor – Klumpp Road overpass
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is undertaking maintenance works on the Klumpp Road overpass from late August 2025.
These works are being undertaken for asset preservation, to improve safety and mitigate the risk of major rehabilitation works.
Work activities
- replacing expansion joints
- repairing defective concrete
- cleaning and recoating bearing anchor bolts
- resurfacing works.
Timing
- Works are scheduled to commence in late August with expected completion in mid- September 2025, weather and site conditions permitting.
- Typical work hours will be from 6pm to 3am, Sunday to Friday. Night works are required for road user safety, and to avoid what would otherwise be extensive traffic queuing and disruption to the road network.
- While most of the works will be undertaken at night, some Saturday or other out of hours works may be required.
Expected impacts
- Traffic changes will be in effect, including lane closures with traffic control, temporary speed reductions and short-term traffic disruptions.
- There will be minor delays for motorists during the resurfacing works. Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.
- Nearby residents and businesses can expect to experience short term impacts including increased noise, dust, and odour during the works.
- Reversing beepers and flashing lights are a safety requirement and will be used at all times during working hours.
On completion, TMR officers will continue to review the site for up to three months. During this time TMR will assess the work undertaken for longevity and quality. In some cases, TMR may need to do further work at the location to rectify any defects.
