Road resurfacing works

Kitchener Road, Kedron (between Webster Road and Gympie Road)

What works are coming up?

Brisbane City Council will be resurfacing the road at Kitchener Road, between Webster Road and Gympie Road at Kedron.

When will this work take place?

Start Monday 1 July 2024

Finish Tuesday 16 July 2024, weather and site conditions permitting

Time and day Sunday to Thursday between 7pm to 5am

Signage will also be installed nearby in the lead-up to works.

What does this mean for me?

If you live in or are travelling through the area, you may experience:

• noise, dust and vibration from construction machinery and vehicles with reversing alarms and flashing lights
• strong odour during potholing and asphalt laying process
• changed traffic conditions, including minor traffic delays, no standing for traffic in the work zone, reduced speed limits, lane closures and detours
• controlled access to driveways, with up to 15minute wait period
• increased street lighting and service of equipment up to an hour either side of start/finish.

Traffic controllers will be on site to assist you accessing local properties. To meet workplace health and safety requirements, reversing beepers must be switched on.

The BCC road resurfacing program will help make suburban streets smoother and safer.

By investing in roads across Brisbane, they are ensuring our city’s transport networks continues to deliver better roads for residents.

BCC thanks you for your patience and cooperation while undertaking this work.

Please note, BCC will also complete line marking, service raising, and traffic signal loop works within six weeks after resurfacing works.

Vehicle relocation

Please assist BCC by not parking your vehicle on the road within the work zone during this time.

Vehicles that are parked on the road when works are occurring will be relocated nearby, as per section 36 of the Public Land and Council Assets Local Law 2014.
