Construction Update – Beams Road Upgrade
Beams Road upgrade project – Construction update
UPDATE: June 2024
As a part of our plan to upgrade the Beams Road corridor, we will be undertaking major works along both Beams Road and Dorville Road in a continuous period of night and weekend works.
Doing these works over a continuous period will reduce the overall amount of night works required to complete the upgrade by approximately five weeks.
NIGHT WORKS
Night works to complete initial asphalting will take place Sunday 30 June to Thursday 4 July 2024, between 7pm and 5am, weather and site conditions permitting.
These works will involve installing new road pavement along Beams Road, at the Dorville Road intersection and through to Balcara Avenue.
You may experience:
- Increased lighting and noise from plant and machinery operating throughout the night/morning.
- Low levels of vibration and odour from asphalt.
- Due to workplace health and safety requirements, reversing beepers cannot be switched off.
WEEKEND WORKS
Weekend works to remove the existing road and construct the new road pavement for the northern area of the Dorville Road and Beams Road intersection will be undertaken using a partial road closure and continuous operations. These works will commence from 7pm Friday 5 July until 5am Monday 8 July 2024, and will include both day and night works.
During this time, Dorville Road between Beams Road and Matisse Street, will be closed to all motorists, with local traffic only permitted to travel into the restricted traffic area. Some directly impacted stakeholders may have short term access restrictions and will be contacted directly. Please follow the direction of detour signage and traffic controllers on site.
