TMR has requested information from TCQ regarding the regulation of the High Occupancy, Luxury and Premium surcharge. Attached is some information that has been provided by TMR.
The issue is essentially whether these surcharges should be regulated or not. If TCQ believes that it should remain unregulated, as is currently the case, then this simply needs to be communicated to TMR. If, however, TCQ believes that the maxi surcharge should be regulated then it will be a matter of making a submission to TMR as to how that should occur.
Please find attached the amended regulations that went before the Executive Council last Friday 6 December 2013.
These amendments are to cater for the changes associated with the taxi security camera program, introducing audio, and the automation of meters.
The full legislation may be found at www.legislation.qld.gov.au.
I am pleased to announce that yesterday, 4 December 2013, the full bench of the Fair Work Commission in Sydney upheld the appeal lodged by ATIA on behalf of Jim Voros and comprehensively overturned the judgement that drivers are employees as opposed to bailees.
The full judgement is available at http://www.fwc.gov.au/decisionssigned/html/2013FWCFB9339.htm.
