Maintenance Works – Old Northern Road, Everton Park
Old Northern Road, Everton Park – Concrete maintenance works
The Department of Transport and Main Roads advises of upcoming concrete works at two locations along Old Northern Road, Everton Park.
These works are being undertaken to improve the aesthetics of the road for all road users.
Works will include
- Removing overgrown vegetation and filling with concrete at the following locations:
- Site 1 – Centre median at Dargie Street, Everton Park.
- Site 2 – Centre median at Flockton Street, Everton Park.
Timing
- Works are scheduled to commence in early June 2025 and are expected to take two weeks to complete, site and weather conditions permitting.
- Typical construction hours will be from 6pm to 5am, Sunday to Friday.
- Night works are required for road user safety, and to avoid what would otherwise be extensive traffic queuing and disruption to the road network.
- While most of the works will be undertaken at night, some Saturday or other out of hours works may be required.
What to expect
- Traffic changes will be in effect, including temporary road shoulder and lane closures with traffic control, changes to traffic flow, temporary speed reductions and short-term traffic disruptions.
- Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.
- Use of machinery and plant will be required during these works. Nearby residents and businesses can expect to experience short term impacts including increased noise, dust, and odour during the works.
- Reversing beepers and flashing lights are a safety requirement and will be used at all times during working hours.
- Access to private properties will be maintained during the works. Where temporary access changes are required, property/business owners will be contacted directly.
On completion, TMR officers will continue to review the site for up to three months. During this time TMR will assess the work undertaken for longevity and quality.
Every effort will be made to minimise impact on the local community and surrounds.
TMR appreciates your patience and cooperation while these important works are carried out.
